Editorial policy
The rules we work to, published so readers can hold us to them.
Evidence
Where clinical claims are made, we cite the strongest available evidence and state its limitations. Where the evidence base for a popular treatment is thin, we say so, including when that is commercially inconvenient. Manufacturer-funded studies are identified as such.
Links to clinics and companies
We link to a clinic or company only where a reader benefits from the reference: as an example of a described approach, or as a source of a specific service discussed in the piece. Links are never sold. No organisation can buy a link, a mention, or favourable coverage. Some organisations we link to are clients of our publisher, and we disclose that on every article carrying such a link.
Balance
Any piece describing a treatment covers its limitations, its risks, and who should not have it. A piece that only describes benefits has failed.
Pricing
Prices are given as observed market ranges with the date and geography stated. They are indicative, not quotations.
AI use
We use AI tools in research and drafting. Every published piece is reviewed by a human editor who is accountable for its accuracy. We do not publish unreviewed generated text.
Corrections
Factual errors are corrected promptly and the correction is noted on the article with its date. We do not silently amend.
